Aledade Named One of the 2020 Best Workplaces for Parents™ by Great Place to Work®

January 8, 2021

Bethesda, Md. – December 10, 2020 – Great Place to Work® has honored Aledade as one of the 2020 Best Workplaces for Parents list. Aledade earned this award because it has created consistently positive experiences for working parents. This award is particularly significant in light of the extremely difficult and novel challenges facing parents this year.

Great Place to Work determined the Best Workplaces for Parents™ by gathering and analyzing confidential employee experience feedback representing 4.8 million U.S. employees across more than 20 industries – the largest annual study of working parents to date.

“We are especially proud that our team has recognized Aledade for creating one of the best workplaces for parents during a year when we had to adapt to a unique set of challenges together,” said Jessica Gladden, Vice President of People Strategy & Operations. “Our entire team is committed to supporting our employees with children and ensuring that they have the resources they need to thrive both at home and professionally.”

Protecting and supporting team members and their families has always been a first-order priority for Aledade. Prior to the pandemic, Aledade provided team members with 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and offered employees the ability to work remotely and design flexible schedules to support work/life balance where possible.

In 2020, Aledade implemented the Families First Coronavirus Response Act more generously than the law requires, providing additional support to team members. The company is also offering part-time employment options and extending a leave of absence to employees, who might not otherwise be eligible for leave, who need to care for their own, or a family member’s, COVID-related illness.

Finally, during the outbreak of COVID-19 specifically, Aledade has adapted quickly to changing circumstances, turning our all-staff retreat, an annual gathering that brings together employees from 42 states, into a virtual retreat to maintain both social distancing and team building. Aledade has found ways to ensure that all Aledade team members can stay physically healthy, by securing masks and hand sanitizer for staff, as well as mentally healthy, through flexible work schedules and a free and confidential counseling service, a free wellness app (which includes family-friendly wellness activities) and live yoga and meditation sessions for employees and their families.

The Best Workplaces for Parents stand out for excelling in one of the nation’s most competitive marketplaces. Aledade has continued to grow rapidly, and has instituted a series of company-wide initiatives to strengthen the company’s culture and values as it scales, including support for work-life balance through generous paid parental leave and a flexible work environment.

The Best Workplaces for Parents is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work based on employee survey results. Aledade was also recently named as one of the Best Workplaces for Women.

Full details of the study and findings can be found in the report authored by Great Place to Work in Partnership with Maven Clinic.

“Best workplaces like Aledade have built dynamic, flexible, and transparent workplaces built on trust,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “This gives companies on this list a powerful opportunity not just to do well for their people, but also to do well for their businesses.”
