Aledade and Aetna Join to Expand Value-Based Care in Georgia

April 27, 2021

Bethesda, Md. and Hartford, Conn. – April 27, 2021 – Aledade and Aetna®, a CVS Health® company, today announced a new initiative to expand physician-led, value-based care across Georgia. This new agreement will help participating physicians in Aledade’s Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) deliver high-quality, coordinated care to patients covered by Aetna Medicare Advantage plans in Georgia.

“Aledade’s ACO model is proven to provide quality care for patients while delivering significant savings for providers. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, these savings have enabled practices in our ACO network to stay open and continue serving their community,” said Raj Kaneriya, Executive Director of Georgia Aledade. “Our new collaboration with Aetna will allow us to provide better care for thousands of patients across Georgia and we look forward to continued provider adoption of value-based care throughout the country.”

For physicians participating in Aledade ACOs, this agreement presents the opportunity to share in a portion of health care cost savings generated from improved quality of care and health outcomes. And for Aetna members, this means benefiting from Aledade’s focus on access to primary care, preventive services, care coordination, and population health management.

“Our continued work together with Aledade is helping grow access to affordable, quality care through value-based models, and we are proud to be bringing this care to our Medicare Advantage Members in Georgia,” said Cindy Follmer, Market President for Aetna’s Georgia and Gulf States market. “By emphasizing preventive health, and working with trusted doctors in the community, this collaboration will enable members to receive the personalized, quality care they need.”

Across the country, Aledade ACOs have reduced preventable hospital stays, emergency room visits, and unnecessary medical services, driving more than $400 million in health care cost reductions. Aledade supports physicians with a comprehensive range of capabilities that include: cutting-edge data analytics, user-friendly care management and outreach tools, unparalleled regulatory expertise, strong payer relationships, and local, hands-on support.
