Accountable care organizations offer tremendous potential for primary care organizations to improve clinical outcomes and grow shared savings revenues in a value-based healthcare system. This is an exciting opportunity, but it also raises an important question for independent primary care organizations that have not found success in their current ACOs: when is it time to find a new ACO?
